from the tele today..........
LONDON: Many young boys like
to stay indoors playing computer
games, but Scott Sampson is more
likely to be feeding camels or
showing off tarantulas.
Aged just 9, he may be the
youngest zookeeper in the world.
There is always something for
Scott to do at the British wildlife
park owned by his parents, Steve
and Angela Sampson.
Whether it is sweeping out the
goat enclosure or encouraging a
baby fox to eat, teaching people not
to be afraid of creepy-crawlies or
giving a red panda lunch, the pint-
sized keeper is busy from morning
to afternoon.
Scott has grown up surrounded
by exotic animals, because his
home is in the middle of the
Hertfordshire park.
His birth coincided with the
opening of the park's Tiger Lodge.
His mum said: "I gave birth to
Scott at 3.30am and at 11am we
were at the opening of Tiger
Lodge! This worked well because
our family and friends were able to
see Scott the day he was born."
As a toddler, Scott would tell
people about his pets and get looks
of disbelief, but his mum and dad
were always on hand to explain.
Recently, he delighted
schoolmates by bringing Timon the
meerkat to school for show-and-tell.
