Anyone have any experience using this spray for snake mites?

We are following directions, will see how it goes. Looks like the last treatment of different stuff is having a win on some of the other snakes, but we ran out so had to go to this.

I use it quite a bit. Works okay, however every 12mths or so I get mites again. I do spray it onto a cloth to gently wipe down or rather allow my pythons to slide through whilst i hold it rather than spraying directly onto them as the instructions suggest. I also give a 10 second spray in 4x2, 7 secs in 2x2. let sit for 20 mins. then introduce my python back into enclosure. Dont deviate from instructions too much. and treat weekly for 3 weeks. It baffles me where the little buggers come from.. wish I knew as I would eliminate them at the source.

Comes from people bringing wild infested animals into their collection and then selling the animals that get infested from the original animal and then those xollections get infested etc etc

This is why some sort of quarantine procedures should be used, even if its keeping it in a tub for a week on butchers paper to see if any mites are seen

How are you getting mites every 12 months?

I had one mite outbreak in the 1990s when I had a grand total of 5 snakes and a few lizards. It was a complete bollock of a job to deal with. I've had them come in maybe 2 or 3 times since then but quarantine caught them and they were promptly dealt with in quarantine, far away from the main collection. The last time I had them come in (caught in quarantine) was about 15 years ago.

I can scarcely begin to imagine the amount of work and horror I've saved by being careful with quarantine, definitely very worthwhile working on prevention rather than cure.
