my male beardie is rubbing up against the glass in his enclosure and is rubbing his nose off and making it bleed i have got stuff to puy on it has anyone elese had this problem and what did they do????

cheers

chub used to do that, so i opened the doors and now shes a loungeroom lizard.

u keep ur parents in an emclosure!

haha, i know i'm not funny.

are the edges of teh glass sharp?

use diluted betadine to clean it, get any loose substrate out so it dosent get diirty,..

really dont know how to stop them from nose rubbing, has it only started recently?
can he see something thats making him do it (like a jar of crickets in view?)

let him out fro a run then put him back in?

This is probabley going to sound strange but bubble wrap works very well lol.
cut a strip about 20 -30 cms wide fix it to the inside of the glass front with double sided tape. make sure you fix it well as they will climb it and make sure they can't come into contact with the double sided tape.

If the reasoning is not sharp glass, which you should definatly check and it may not heart to cover the edges with something softer.

Try teaching him not to, this is done by placing a cover over the front of the beadies enclosure when he does it, so he looses the ability to see out. Same thing is done to teach beardies that bang there noses on the glass not to.

Give it a go and let me know how it works for you.

Cheers,

does it have mites....?
