Hi All,
Had to move a small log to mow and found this pair underneath fully entwined and mating. They are only about as thick as a grown mans middle finger and only about 15 inches long. One was quite pinkish looking with the other more a rusty brown.

Sorry for the oversight, I am in the North Burnett region of Queensland between Mundubbera and Eidsvold

Definatley some kind of Cryptophis. Not sure on which one, either nigrostriatis or boschmai.

Thanks for the input guys. Cryptophis boschmai seems a possible suspect as neither snake had the dark head of Parasuta dwyeri, or the dark stripe down the back of nigrostriatis but I can only find pictures showing a dark brown colouring. Does anyone know if there is a colour difference in the genders of this snake?

Colours can vary incredibly even in a single individual from its summer to winter colours let alone the entire species. I didn't consider the possibility of them being Parasuta dwyeri, now that Nathan has said it i'm even less sure of what they are lol.

oh ok, in the 1st and 3rd picture it looks as though they have that dark marking consistent with dwyeri. in this case im confident in saying that these are in fact Cryptophis boschami

Carpentaria snake, I am just guessing though.
