Hey guys, I got a couple of murray darling pythons that for the life of me i can't get them to successufully shed the tip ( 2cm worth ) of there tails.

I have tried soaking them before shedding and during shedding but cant get it to shed with the rest of the skin.

I usually am able to get it off all be it a couple of days later and a bit of persaverance.

Just wanting to know if any one out there has had similar problems I know a mate of mine is having same problem with an MD as well.

Anyone got any tips for me to help em shed better ???

Put it in a wet pillowslip for the night in a warm cage.

Righto I'll try that but I sorta dont want to be just working after the fact so to speak.

I want them to shed properly not just leave a bit and worry bout it later.

WITH a local anaesthetic, snip off the last 2cm of their tails... voila..... no problem!!!!! (NO! was joking!!!)
You seem to have been doing everything right, maybe try doing what Wokka says, perhaps the pillowslip iself will help them get rid of that pesky end piece.
Good luck.

The tail tips are a common problem. All my snakes missed their tail tips coming out of cooling. You might need to help. AFter soaking her you could try and remove the skin yourself. Be careful not to break the tail tip. Gently does it but it will come free.
