I know mealworms shouldnt be fed as a regular thing to beardies, but are they ok to feed occasionally as a treat? I was in the pet store the other day buying some crickets for my gecko and they had a tub of small mealworms. I was going to buy them, but then thought Id check on here first. He otherwise gets fed woodies of a morning and veggies of an evening. Is there an age and size limit on who can be fed? I have one beardie that eats anything in front of him and is about 12 inches (maybe a bit bigger) long, the other is the same age, though much much smaller (approx 4 inches long) and hardly eats anything. I thought maybe him being so small might cause an impaction should he eat one.

Thanks Guys

Cheers

its perfectly safe to feed the FRESHLY SHED mealies to ur dragon as a treat. just make sure u pick out the white ones fro him, theyre nice and soft,...

Often Juvie B. dragons will go off their food when only fed one thing (this happens mainly with crickets), I use mealies and woodies to keep them eating well as this is vital. I feed all my adult dragons roughly 40% woodies, 30% crickets, 10% mealies 20% flowers & greens. Though hatchlings are fed mostly crickets, flys and greens (never mealies) untill they are around 15 - 20cm TL, then they get the adult diet.
