last year my science lab kept a gts, which i was dumped with the responsibilty because no one else would(and how could i say no). 2 weeks after we had it i came in monday morning to change its water, only to find it dead because someone had left a mouse in there. the mouses death was also painful, someone removed it from the snake cage adn kept it and forgot about it

thats a gross pic!!! and i have stopped feeding live but how do i ween him onto dead mice??

my thoughts on it is that i get the dead mouse and thor it out and make it warm and then rubb it agains a live mouse to get the sent.
is this a good way to ween him onto dead ones??

cheers
beno

Hozy the dead mouse doesnt need to be rubbed on a live one as it already has a scent. Just wait until your snake gets hungry and offer it a dead mouse. Observe how the snake reacts. Does it approach the mouse with curiosity or does it back away. If it approaches then it will most likely take it. If it doesnt then leave the mouse in its cage overnight. Sometimes it does help to bump the snake with the mouse. I usually bump the snake along its sides making it turn to see whats bumping it. Then i quickly place the mouse against its snout and the mouse is grabbed.
