All my neighbours and friends have had mice over the past few months. I've not seen any droppings or any signs of mice BUT i thought l'd lay a few traps just in case.
I used peanut butter as l was told that will attract them. I had the traps out for about 4 days and nothing..

Yesterday, l opened my pantry and *whack*, the smell of wet dog.... l knew it was a mouse, still no signs and no dropping.
I did a bit of research on the net and discovered that the best thing to use in traps was chocolate. We had a chocolate mud cake in the fridge from my hubby's birthday a couple of days ago.
i scrapped a little icing off and loaded the trap.

Within about 10 minutes, i caught my first mouse. So far l have caught 4 mice in about 12 hours.

I hate mice..

I am more shocked that there was chocolate mud cake left in the fridge, and that lasted more than a few days lol. Not in my house! :)

haha, hubby had a treasure mud cake at work and then came home and we had a couple of people over and l bought a marbled chocolate mudcake. They are so rich that even the kids
haven't been asking to have some. Mice seem to like the icing tho, caught another one about 1/2 an hour ago.. Never in a million years would i have thought that l would catch this many in such a
short time.

Yeah, that makes me suspicious about the rest of the story too.

BUT BUT BUT!!! Here, look..

sorry, l already got rid of the mouse, so no yucky pics of that

You're wasting the whole cake on mice????

What a shame. It still eat around where this mice have been though.

no no no no no.... just a couple of scrapings og icing which they seem to love.. just enough icing to bait the traps.
My hubby would kill me if l gave the whole cake up to catch mice..

we had a hopping mouse in our house for about 5 months.....i bought a humane trap and put rabbit pellets in the trap after nothing with peanut paste, arnotts arrowroot and cake....checked the trap in the morning and found a nice fat mouse

well, i think l have caught them all. No mice in over 12 hours.. All up i caught 9 mice... i am shocked and amazed that we had nine mice in here and l had not a clue

If you wanna get rid of mice, got a snake. I was living in an old queenslander that had been converted into 4 apartments. The council had demolished an old house on the block and all the mice and rats moved to our building (was the only other woodern house on the block). All three other apartments had them crawling all over the place, in cupboards, in the walls, running around their apartments in the middle of the day, everywhere. One day i noticed this grinding sound, after i bit of searching i discovered a rat was under the floor boards trying to chew its way into the apartment. That arvo my childreni was have a bit of floor time and went straight to tiny hole the rat was trying to expand and sat there all arvo. But before going back in its enclosure left her calling card. As I was cleaning it up I noticed some of the liquid component had run along the gap in the floor board and down the hole. The rats took another month or so to be removed from the other apartments (over 100 at last count!) but we didn't see another sign of them at all, the smell of snake kept them away. So convinced of the rat repelling qualities of snakes within a few weeks 2 out of the other 3 apartment tenants had applied for rep licences and had snakes themselves

i was going to feed the mice to Yoda BUT l was too concerned that they may have been baited (i have no baits in my house but not sure of neighbours)... Too worried that Yoda might get poisoned and die
