since ive had him, my 7yr old jungle python has never missed his food, (ive had him since september last year) but today he struck at it 3 times and missed before he actually got it, and when he did get the rat he didnt seem to have much power behhind his strike, normally the rat goes flying out of the tongs, but today i had to open the tongs and let go of the rat.
could it be because im about 5 days later than normal in feeding him, or some other reason? maybe his sights a bit off, he looks like he may be shedding soon? hes gone a tad dark but his eyes havnt gone milky.

It could be any of those reasons and possibly the recent cold weather which has been around. I'd just check your temperatures in your cage if you've been experiencing cold weather, because i know mine have been affected. I really don't think its anything to worry about if he's still eating.

okay it could be the cold, cos it has been quite chilly here aswell. but yeah hes eaten it, ill put it down to that, n check everything over :) thanks. x
