Wow I'd love one of those....I've always loved eels!

We used to go to a pond near my mums house that was tidal (well kinda) and there would be eels stuck in it from time to time.

Not the same as that fella- but still kinda cool when you're a kid! Wonder if you're allowed to keep eels here....now that would be a talking point....!

Kirby - if you interested in keeping SW morays, do a quick search on google, there is ALOT of information on the easier to keep and more readily available species. Like the snowflakes and zebras.

Magpie - I am an aquaculture technician by trade, so setting up filtration is my specialty. Although this setup i've gone for a quite simple approach. I use two large eheim cannisters that are cleaned in tank water every 3 weeks. Alot of people make the fatal mistake with cannisters in SW and let them build up full of particulate matter smothering the filter media, and effectively ruining your biological filtration as well as slowing any mechanical filtration your cannister is meant to be offering. I also use a foam fractionator (protein skimmer). Lighting is just done by a couple fluros, as morays aren't too fond of really bright light.

AntaresiaLady- I also live in perth, they are perfectly legal to keep.

Thanks Nox, it's probably all a bit pricey for me at the moment :)
