Hi can any one help me my little pythons nostrils are closing up and his nose is all scabbed does any one know what could of caused this I would take him to the vet but my local reptile vet is closed until after new year has anyone had this problem with their python I am really worried thanks in advance.

Cant be that worried there off line...and only joined 2 days ago...christmas pressie wrapped in a box????

+1 to what JasonL said. It could have been an abbrassion, nose bleed or even a popped blood vesels in the nostrils. Pictures please :) (Whenever you decide to jump back online, the sooner the better! This could be serious)

Bound to be caused by either wire mesh or some other coarse and abrasive material, and maybe over the vents, or if the snake is small, the holes in a plastic tub being large enough for the snake to force its snout through and thus causing an abrasion. Simple answer is to remove any harshly abrasive material from the enclosure, or replace the tub with another, with smaller holes.

Never seen a "nose bleed" or a "popped blood vessel" in any snake in 50 years...
