This morning my youngest daughter starts kindy, so for the first time in nine years I will have nobody to need, want, and hassle me.. She came out in her abbie cadaby jammies and has announced to me that she is ready for kindy but her buggies won't be able to play today and how are the dearies going to be if she doesn't find them their lunch? Every morning she spends out in the garden with a bug catcher finding all sorts of insects for her 'little' beardie.. So today I will be sniffing and crying while I catch my creepies to feed to Ruby her 'dearie' just happy that something still needs me!:?

Lol, just don't do what all the parents do to me. There is nothing worse than parents sitting all day in class with their kids!

Oh god I wouldnt dare! I think you guys need a medal for having to deal with the kids... and the neurotic parents! my mother in law is going to the kindy today to demand a job there so she can be with her grandchild everyday.. didnt see her for six months when i needed her and ended up having to put her in day care (which lasted four days because I was 'abandoning' her) its too bad she's going to the other kindy and im sneaking her into a different one lol

Hahahaha! Love it!

On a good day i only have one or two mums in my class, on a bad day i'll have five or six. All with infants and a boob hanging out...

Mine started yr 5 & yr 1 yesterday......it doesnt get any easier! :( But you shall be proud Princess Deputy, i was gone before the bell! I didnt have tissues handy, so i legged it while my babies were smiling!

Boobs!? Omg that would be horrid.. my MIL breast fed my SIL until she was four.. which would mean id be going to kindy today but to feed my school kid! But I did have to stay at school for a bit yesterday after the grade four teacher wasnt unpacked yet so I helped her unstack desks and chairs etc, while my eldest rolled her eyes and kept telling me to go harrass the grade threes where her sister was lol.. but all in all a good day planned of CLEANING! and maybe some me time.. maybe

i have found a way around that...do what i have done have a baby on feb 29 ..my lil girl is turning 4 this feb 29 but i have decided shes only actually really technically turning 1 ......means i get some extra time with her *grin*

My baby is going into daycare this year and i dunno whether im looking forward to it or dreading it!

mine goes to day care 2 days a week cos apparently with having no kids her age ( my next one is 14) she needs to socialise with her peers...I dont think i am ready for her to have peers lol

Thats why i am putting Tilly in too, she needs to learn how to socialise with other kids! but i like that she socialises with me :)

Well it is done... I dropped her off and put her paint smock on asked her if she wanted me to paint with her (she was traumatised to the point of hysteria three weeks ago when i tried daycare) and I'm biting my lip waiting for the response... She says no mummy I want to paint wis my friends.. So less than two minutes later I'm sitting at home thinking what the hell do I do n ow? its bad enough she told me last night she cant wait till i go to 'pooka'.. does she know how freakin long 80 days is!?!?!? think i might have a coffee and try not to cry.. maybe surfing for another reptile will cheer me up..

Kapooka, full time army so I dont get to see my babies for two and half months! and my husband will be left with three children, a couple of dragons, a whole house to pack up and move to melbourne, and enroll them all in school for next semester.. boiling eggs is a task for him..

Ahhhh, Bellany. The 80 days will be longer for you than anyone else, believe me. I've been there (17 years ago... [my god... 17 years!]), and I've seen plenty I know go through it too. Funny thing is, it's harder for the husbands left at home than it is for the wives. I've never seen guys go to pieces like they do when faced with 80 days without the missus. I have a mate who is an ex Navy SEAL (US SF) officer who was in tears to me several times during his wifes basic training.

Good luck to you though. Nice career choice :)

Awww, I always feel for the sad parents at my daycare. I have the 2 yr olds in my care and it hard when they chuck a tanty and the parents are ready to cry. The little buggers cheer up half a minute after the parent has left but they just gotta put on that show.
Sounds like you are handling it well though. Nothing worse than parents who drop off a happy child, then hang around for an hour or so repeatedly asking them if they are ok, 'would they like another cuddle?', 'are they sure they are ok?' Like they are hoping something will be wrong and give them a good reason to take the child back home. The child starts off confidently running around with thier friends and end up clinging to the parent sobbing. So kudos to you for doing the tough thing and making your little girl's drop off happy and stress free for her.

I really, really really hope he's a mess without me! He told me that on my march out hell be all buff and fit and all that and I'll go weak at the knees when i see him, I told him 'honey, if your a broken whithered soul of a man and you havent slept in three months because of the kids, I'll be extatic!' But he seems to think it'll be rainbows and cupcakes, and he doesnt even have to deal with babies or nappies! Abbie is at kindy, the other girls are 3 and 4 at school, he's got it easy! I hope i have what it takes to make it there, im quietly peeing myself about it, and also the thought of breaking down crying saying i want to go home mortifies me because i did that on school camp once and still get reminded about it from time to time by my parents .. I hope that 80 days, corporals, three kids at home, a husband, all this if i cry over will be a more valid reason than 'i want my mummy'... and i hope my girls miss me like mad too! Oh and my position is EW, so lots of work ahead i think!

Dont do what my ex did.

She would drop the boys off at school and then go home and spend the next two hours sitting in the car in the garrage crying.

I didn't know parents were allowed to stay in class with kids....well I haven't had anything to do with littlies for many, many years. When my kids first went to school....like 30 odd yrs ago....we dropped them off and that was that. The eldest, my son, now 38 couldn't have cared less if I was there or not. It broke my heart. Daughter now 37 was very upset and always hated me leaving, but parents were never allowed to stay.
