Can you get access to temp gun or thermometer? Place it on the target area of the branch (centre hotspot) to test the temps. If there is adequate heating then you should be fine. I use 40w globes in a similar size enclosure connected to a dimming thermostat. You only need a basking area to be 36 degrees - not the whole enclosure. I use those globes on my Pygmy Beardies without any issue - however they are only 15cm from the globe. Not sure how far it is in your set up

Perhaps you could lower the globe so the basking spot is closer to the ground if your new addition has probs climbing (baby lizards do sometimes)

Is the basking light one of those fan heater ones if so..... I dont really recommend them, I use those ceramic bulb holders that has the power cord attached to it already they are around $30 and I am currently using a 75 watt bulb. Dont let the heat get to 40 that is to hot nothing over 36 . I have put sum pics in my album so you can check it out. :D good luck

I use a ceremic for 'base load' heat, connected to a thermostat, so that the animals are not disturbed by a light turning on and off all night.

Then use a sunglow with UVb as a basking spot on a timer.

Hi Chloe, i thought we need to heat to reaches up to around 38-40c some of the websites even said need 40-44c for babies.... i got one of those lamp now together with my heater. now the heat reaches around 38-41c. so should i just leave it as it is? i will load up some pictures tonite. hopefully i've done it right.

hey there koolies :D I have mine set at 36 cause wen I first got him i had it up around 38 39 and found his skin got really dry, and Iit felt really hot on my hand when I'd put it under the light cause beardies cant feel themselves burning,

Enclosure update!

i thought we needed at around 40-44c, most of the material i read on the web saids its best to reach that temp for baby beardie. anyway here's an update of the set up for my enclosure i've been working on the past few days. now that i added a basking clamp lamp next to the heater. it can reaches up to 41c if i turn them both on. and without the heater it reaches around 36-39c. i've added more green and more rocks inside and made a tiny bridge for my beardie ;) ohhh .. i've got one of those ministat for my heater that i set on 33c. let me know what u all think bout it and should i leave both of tem on at all time or set the thermostat to a lower temp. cheers hope u guys like my enclosure :) i'm goin to get my beardie hopfully on tuesday!!! ^.^
