RE: i got bit too

yeah camera wasn't exactly handy at the time plus i had other things on my mind rather than getting a bloody photo..the bite was nothing really, still funny though i thought!!!

RE: i got bit too

I get a buzz out of getting the occasional bite.

It's more of a bit of a fright, than pain, even if it does bleed.

I got bitten by my 5 foot coastal last week cuase she was playing with her food and I got to close. Wack!! she hit me, and she never bites. She is a funny girl.

But this little Capey hatchy OMG, this little turd is ready to bite as you lift his lid off his clickclack. If you pick him up you will get at least three nips on approach, then he will continue to bitting as long as he is in contact will you or with in reach of you. He will pee and crap on you and scent you.

I have had nasty snakes before but this little Cape York is a complete nut case.

RE: i got bit too

Pics or it didnt happen!!!
I can't beleive there are no pic's.
My better half got here first bite two nights ago. It was only from a costal hatchie, I would have taken a photo but you wouldn't have been able to see any thing and I don't know how to do the little circle thing like Mick did on his photo!

RE: Re: RE: my first bite!

there is nothing like a good bite or 2, i got taged twice in the same day by 2 different coastals, 1 was 6 foot the other 1 was 3 foot, i have photo's but they are very fuzzy, lol, must have been because i took them myself, you would think i would have learnt the first time,

cheers,
steve.......

RE: Re: RE: my first bite!

Feeding bites are very diferent to defensive bites.
I've been bitten by a 7' coastal who was very grumpy, bled like a stuck pig, but not a huge amount of pain.
I've been bitten by a 4' coastal who thought I was food, not much blood but a bruise the size of an apple and lots of pain. It's not the bite that hurts, it's the force they hit you with.

Belle Bite

My 6ft Cape York hit me a few weeks back and it was like she was going in for the kill on a rat. Hit me on the knuckle and i bled like a stuck pig. The hand was swollen for 2 days but now i have a lump on my middle knuckle and i can't give people the middle finger while driving without it hurting. If i even touch the area where the lump is i get a pins and needles effect that goes two inches up my hand. But i love her.

RE: Belle Bite

Did you make sure she didn't loose any teeth in the bite wound Simone, they can do and it may become infected.

RE: Belle Bite

No i didn't bother actually. The tissue my hand is sitting on was the second tissue, the other one was soaked i bled pretty heavily. I wasn't worried about my hand at the time i was too worried about her. She seems to be ok, but my hand is what hurts. Might see the doctor on Tuesday then.

Simone.

RE: Belle Bite

They loose their teeth fairly regulary and easily, they do grow back however so the snake should be fine, wouldn't hurt to check his gums though if you are worried. You should feel the tooth if it is still in there.

RE: Belle Bite

I can feel something there for sure. Bugger. Oh well Vet and Doctors on Tuesday just to be safe.

Simone.
