She is a patternless snow gecko (or so i have been told). She recently developed a large lump in her throat/neck area. I have found info saying it was calcium deposits and normal for females. I have also found claims it was an abscess or infection. At the same time as the lump appeared, her fat purpleish tail became very thin and she is showing signs of lethargy. She is still eating and drinking. It will take me quite some time to find a reptile vet in my area and it has already been like this for a week already. I'm concerned about the urgency of her condition. The two solutions i have found are two very opposite extremes.
Thank you for any replies.

As always hard to say and only a vet will be able to tell you. It really does sound more like a diet problem though since the animal is still eating. I would also take a guess that the lump is the Thyroid. You do not say what it is eating but they do need a good supplement so make sure the foods are dusted properly. Get it some really good food and supplement and to a vet asap.

(I do not really like doing this online but as an emergency measure find some iodised salt and add a small (very small) amount to the water - a few grains is all, not even enough to taste. Get some variety in the diet also, if it has been on mealworms get some waxworms - high energy but nutritionally crap, so again dust them well with a full supplement.)

Disclaimer: For whatever reason many animals will never make it to a vet, but in this case the advice is harmless and could still make a difference while it is still able to eat before/if a vet can see it.
