He/she is 2 years old, near 4 feet long, and I feed it a small rat that is the same thickness as the middle of its body. He hasn't been particularly inactive but why's strange is that he shed on the 2nd and didn't poo so from what I'm hering that's a little bit wierd.

What substrate do you have, he could have pooed and it could of buried in the substrate a bit

How old is the snake more importantly how big is he, small snakes do little poops big snakes big ones..I have two Jungles which are smallish and it's hard to find there poops at times where the big snake you can't miss it..

My girls tend to HOLD IT ALL IN until they shed, so they can smear it all around the cage for me.
Give it a little bit of time - if you're noticing that he's looking a bit uncomfortable or you're worried about a bulge give him a warm bath, the exercise and the water should help with any possible constipation.

Hi - you could also try feeding a day old chick. I do this a few times a year and it acts as an aperient and cleans the snakes out.

So far all of the above have missed the first thing that should be asked in this case!

How old/big is the snake in question and what have you been feeding it! (define small rat, as they all vary in size definition
from every supplier)

The other point is that you have had an approx 5 week break between feeds if i understand what you have
written above. Now snake are not like mamals they dont crap to a given time frame, It will crap when it needs to
and according to the volume of food going in!

My then-hatchie Darwin didn't poop for about 4 feeds, turns out he was due to go up a food size and was literally absorbing the entire rodent. On the other hand, about 2 weeks ago I fed my 2yo Olive 5 xday old chicks. No poop. About a week ago I fed him 6x day old chicks. Yesterday he shed, and let loose the most ginormous poop! It rivalled my fully grown coastal's poops, and by god was it smelly!!!
Moral: they'll poop when they're good and ready :p

If it is alert and active and settled it is probably fine and some of the above may be your answer. Also sniff the enclosure. I had it once where I couldn't find a poo and was wondering what what was going on but I was sure the tank was a bit wiffy and when I pulled the enclosure apart for a proper clean she had done it in her hide which has a lip in the bottom and is uneven and dark coloured and the poo had stuck to it in a corner and was barely recognisable.

I buy my rats frozen from living jungle in sunshine, I feed it every 2 weeks give or take, the snake is 2 and near 4 feet long

yes but makes a real mess of the enclosure rofl

I don't have a clue where I would be able to get them in my area but ill have a look. Snakes don't have trouble digesting the beak?

Thank you for the help btw I love the names of your snakes, pokemon for life

Slough means change its skin

If its getting a small feed every 14 days it most probably is digesting nearly all of it

Age and size of the snake make the feeds sound a bit small. My Mac is 4ft (2yo) is munching on two 50gr rats in a feed.

my snake poos like around every 2nd or 3rd feed unless i take him for walks on the grass and he just does it straight away

My woma didn't for two months when I first got her

Are you stalking me? Lol :p joking

I've been reading threads about poop because Steve has only passed liquid and urates for 2 feeds. I've now decided he's fine :) he has paper towel substrate so no way he's impacted and is still roaming around the place like normal.
