My Stimson Python (aged 3 1/2 yrs) has been looking and acting kind of weird. I noticed last night that the way he was laying made his head look weird, like i honestly thought he was dead cause his head was on such an angle. He's been laying in the same spot for the past couple days.
I checked on him at about 11:30am today and he looked the same so I reached in a poked him with my hook and he just looked up and i swear i can see a lump under his right side of his jaw/neck. then he started shaking his head side to side it was so random i've never seen him do that.

I had to leave after to go to work so my mum is just at home with him.
He last fed on 29/05/17. but i don't know when his last she'd was ...
Doesn't anyone know if he's sick or is his just symptoms of a shed? And by the way I've owned him since Nov 2013, so it's not like I haven't experienced his sheds before. but i'm so worried!!

Hmm... Have you seen a vet? It is actually against the law for us to tell you what is wrong with your pet without actually seeing the animal. And it is still illegal even if a vet says what to do online. It must be in person

Not sure its illegal to have an opinion, if so the courts would be bloody busy mate. Might be a problem for me to suggest a course of treatment and certainly be a moral issue.

Regardless of that its a poor image and a lack of information makes it difficult for anyone to give ADVICE! (Which we can offer free and legally I think)

Not illegal as in it needs to go to court, but like a fine. My friend is a vet (not a reptile vet) and he says he is not supposed to diagnose any illnesses or injuries over the internet. I don't know how true it is, but I can only see it as making sense. Think about it, any person can just say it is a tumour and the person could think its true.

I am not saying you do not know what you are doing, but I think that he should see a vet before even thinking about coming to the forums.

Even if someone on here could tell you exactly what it is, there is no way they would be able to treat him for you. You NEED to go to a qualified specialist reptile vet ASAP.

When you are unwell I'll assume you take yourself off to a doctor ( or at least get your mum to take you), now seeing as you are this reptiles custodian then it is your responsibility to ensure its health and safety, thus it is also your responsibility to take it to the vet as soon as you suspect that something is not right with your animal.!

What a load of waffle!
Google on line vets.

I have had on-line & email advice/consultation from a highly regarded vet in Australia previously.

I'm not suggesting in this case that advice from a keeper is appropriate. I am saying giving advice/opinions on line is perfectly legal.

Like I said, I wasn't sure how true it was. I didn't say advice was illegal, either, if you read over my comment. What I said was that diagonosing any illnesses/injuries online, never did I mention advice

Either way regardless of DX or just opinion if you feel like he is sick trust your gut you have had him long enough to know if he's not right. I hope he's better soon.!
