I have recently got a childrens python who was only fed once every 3months I fed the snake when I got it it had to large fuzzy rats and was still hungry what should i do I'm thinking go to two large fuzzys every 2weeks or I small rat every month can anyone help

How old is it? I'd feed it decent sized meal every 7 to 10 days.

It's a bit over 4ft it's head isn't that large so don't wanna go to big orat size

It's last feed was 2 fuzzy rats that where just fuzzy almost small rats

Poor thing:cry: they can survive that little food, but they sure wont thrive like that. The older the prey item, the more nutrition it has, so if a small rat is about the same girth as the thickest part of the snake, fed it that every 7-10 days as akarsha mentioned.

don't worry about the size of the head, its the girth of the body you use choose what to feed the snake. remember, feed prey items no wider than the widest part of the snake, but the food item should be as wide as the widest part of the snake.
