hi guys i'm new to this forum and from what i've seen i'm impressed.

so the question i have is
- i have a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft tank which used to house my fish which i want to convert to a bearded dragon tank
i need to know everyones opinion on what the best way would be.
currently the tank has no hood but i can get 1.
i just need to know what would be the best type of lighting and heating to use i the tank

any info would be great.

hi guys i'm still unsure about how to set the lighting and heating up.
i was going to go with a 4ft reptisun 10.0 with a 150w basking lamp a 1 end.
but having a 2ft tall tank i have to get him to with 8 inchs of the light.

then i thought about a mvb bulb with a 4ft light just for lighting.

also do i use the wooden hood or do i just leave it open.
but then how do i keep the heat in

i'm lost and confused

what to do??????

cheers dave

put a hood on it so it keeps the heat in, but you will need some sort of ventilation.

a 150watt globe would be plenty for a 5x2x2 as long as there is enough vents.

you can put a branch or a rock under the globe if its too far away.....

Choose a nice wood to make a frame to go flush around your tank, chicken mesh the top, then you can run reflectors or screw it fitting then just use small cable ties to hold the chords to hold them in place! :)

Hi,

I have a 6' x 2' x 3' enclosure that I keep mine in (wooden with a glass front). I use 1 x 100 watt exo terra day glow bulb, as well as 1 x heat rock manufactured by reptile one. I am getting 40 degree temps in the basking spot, and my beardies are doing really well in it. Lots of people don't like using heat rocks, personally I have not had a problem with mine but it is a personal choice.

Good luck with it.
