ok so i went to the local pet shop today to change from a heat mat to a heat lamp, seeing the 10 different sorts of bulbs i thought i would ask if there is a better one to use. the lady there has told me to go for the infareds so i say ok, she then says that globes are much better then mats beacuse all pythons need at leat 8 -10 hrs of uv exposure a day. this sounded a little weird to me, i thought only diamonds really needed it? but anyway she gives me the URS brand infared globe 100watt. I get home set it up, read the box and nothing is mentioned on how much uv it contains or that it contains any uv at all. I have a darwin carpet python does he need uv or is she pulling my leg? Do i need a uv fluro aswell? :?
