Hey,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me where the notice of sale receipt number is supposed to come from, I have bought 4 snakes and haven't got this from anyone. I am not sure if I am supposed to be getting this or not. This is for a NSW license as well.

Cheers.

I think a notice for sale is for elapids, you have to inform the npws that you are selling one and they give you a reciept?? Is this right anyone???

Sherms,
Couls be right but I also have written to NPWS after each Class 2 transaction (as stated in conditions) and received no number from them. I would think if it's needed for elapids, would be needed for Class 2's in same way?

The NSW fauna books were designed for birds. The sale receipt number applies to bird transaction receipts, and does not apply to reptiles in any way whatsoever.

Having said that, a condition on a NSW RK licence is you must have a receipt or proof who you purchased you reptiles from, and in this regard I supply a copy of my licence to the buyer for proof. I also get a copy of the buyers licence to prove who I sold it to, as well as to confirm all details for my record books. In the past people have supplied bogus names, addresses and licence numbers, or their licences have been expired for some period of time. By taking a copy you can confirm everything is OK at the time of sale, or to prove to NPWS who you sold to if they wish to know.

Good on you bigguy. You saved me writing a ream. The Notice of Sale Receipt is a receipt that licensed bird dealers must provide to bird purchasers. There is no NPWS receipts for reptiles.
