Oh ok Wombat, I thought you were the one who contacted me about some rats, but no probs.

It wasn't me. I don't have a snake yet. When I do get a diamond hatchling I'll be looking for pinkies.

Cheers,
Wombat.

I reckon its a big load of crap. Us herpers need people like you to help sustain our hobby/business for those who dont have the facility to raise their own food for herps. shame on him and i think that a tight nit community will stick together in the long run anyway. good luck guys

Make sure first though...perhaps it is someone else. If it is close knit - I am sure it will come out sooner or later

I am sure it will all workout. Lets face it - would be great to get the support of the council - wouldn't that peave the SOB.

good luck...

Loud music is usually associated with drug dealers Cheryl. And, just out of interest, I wonder why his electricity bills are so high? :)

Why don't you apply for a home bussiness occupancy and get your immediate neighbours directly surrounding you to support you in the way of a letter. You can make a standard letter which they individually sign. For one it saves the council having to send a letter to each neighbour and then have to wait for replys. I say this as I to had a neighbour make a complaint to the council but inregards to the idea of having a reptile dealership in suburbia. At the council meeting it was passed due to the fact that I had letters of support from 4 out of 5 of my neighbours. You might find though that your council like many councils have a very old by law that prohibits the keeping of vermin in which rats are classed as such. Best of luck

Councils urinate me off. They are not a legal form of goverment in Australia as they are not in the constitution. Also the referendum to put them into the consitution failed. Ask yourself, if they were legal why would they try to change the consitution to make them so?
But anyways, how any mice and rats do you have? There maybe a limit on how many you can keep. If it is zoned as a rural block you can claim to be a primary producer and these rodents are your livestock.
Good luck anyways.

Crikey Chez, thats rough, ya gotta earn a living eh, bloody whinger! Ask all your freinds to sign a letter to the council saying they dont have a prob with it, how long youve been there etc etc
might help. Go round up 50 sheep and put in his place over night, or better still 50 pigs, tell council hes a pigery LOL
Goes around comes around, best luck with council, keep us up ta date eh! :D

On the other hand he might claim it belongs to Paul Keating, and get away with it. LOl

you could always release several poisonous reptiles "accidentially" into his house...if you want to buy me a tent a sign, food, water and a mobile tv and a plane ticket i am so their! lets go sit outside his house waving signs!!!! personally the "acidental" release of poisionous reptiles is probably better...

good luck with that.

also if you do end up in trouble with all this you have to do this one little thing, get all your rats and mice and release them in his house! make sure they are all drank and eaten before hand. if he can smell them from down the street imagine how much he will smell it when its in his house!!!!!

Absolute whackas, nothing to do better,it annoys me that i cant never here a rooster crow in the morning where i live etc.Everythings deregulated in the economic front so they have to do something to justify their existence.Ive gone from laing bricks and absolute working my guts out to working for government organisations that do nothing but have meetings and more meetings and i know how both halves live unfortunately.

I have worked as a Ranger for a council on Sydney and some of the complaints you get are just a waste of time, unfortunately though, once a complaint is made it must be followed up. Really sux in your case Sheryl. They can also make you abide by you relevant animal acts.

The stupid part apbout all this is that if your neighbour had just spoken to you about it I am sure things would have worked out OK. If fuscus is still there get him to catch some vens and let them go in his house....LOL
