Properly speaking, if your python can get to your cat (or visa versa) then you are not housing your animals correctly. Allowing any python to roam the house is a recipe for disaster.

I'm not worried about my Burms and Retics associating cats with food. I have 4 cats and they don't seem to take notice when I handle them smelling like them. I also don't let my cats or my dog into my snake room. It's just common sense, to prevent injury to both animals. Let snakes roam free is just foolish.
