So I threw a stick at the croc cos he was chewing on the buoy (in the background) I was trying to chase
him away, but he came out to play catch. He wasn't good at the game he chomped the stick to pieces.

He invited me in for a swim, I declined.

This guy agreed, not a good day for a swim.

How nice of the crocodile to invite you into his loverly home, I would have accepted

Where are all the tree huggers now saying that crocs are scared of people and very hard to find??

Looks like a nice size too?

No, not that big about 14 foot, just a bub really

I find rocks are better at scaring them off, except at night time when you have a torch in their eyes. Then they tend to swim really quickly toward you...

I don't know how you guys do it. I was ****ting myself thinking of every possible worst case scenario when I went on a croc spotting river cruise on the Daintree River last year. I was petrified lol

Jay have i shown you the pictures of what we find on the sides of the roads some wet season days? Or even in backyards lol?

There's also times when i've been out herping and stopped for something on the floodplain roads, got out to look at the snake, shone my torch into the water next to the road and quickly got back into the car because of the glowing eyes looking back at me!

Doesn't look to big..not that I want would to get a closer look either way :)

The first pic is really good :D I wouldn't mind seeing one in the wild. I've been through plenty of areas when I lived in QLD but never saw one (pretty hard when you're flying through at highway speeds in the car I guess )

Never seen one in Qld from the car... Always from a boat or a short walk. Sorry Moose, you'll have to go for a 'walk'...

Awesome photos Darlyn.

Was always pleased when I actually 'saw' a croc in FNQ. But I still wondered how many I didn't see!

I remember you text me a pic of the road that leads to the community where you live..... although it looked more like a river............... swarming with crocs!

That was cahills crossing, that place is always crawling with them. None of my pics are real good of them along the roads at night cause all you can see are glowing eyes and you can't really make much out. But this was in a teachers backyard...

And I've posted this before, it was shot where it's lying.

Every now and then they wander through the community too.

That's the burning question, isn't it. :D

I'm moving to FNQ in less than two weeks. I can't wait to see my first wild croc!

I bet that teacher can do a good lesson in undie changing now

And yep the ratio of how many have seen you opposed to how many you've seen will be very high!

Thanks guys for the positive comments on the photo's I'm just learning so that makes me feel great : )

Was going to do a multiple reply with quotes but I guess that's something else I have to learn : {
