My new Children's Phython, approx 8 months old, has sheaded 4 times last month and 3 times this month. She has growing alot and seems healthy in every other way. I am feeding her 3 times a month and she is taking food every time. Her sheaded skin is always in one piece. IS this sheading becouse she is growing quickly or should I be worried?

Seems very frequent to me but I'm only familiar with morelia so probably not much help to you.

i have kept a few spotteds and the fastest shedding was a boy (fluffy) he was once every 3 weeks.
what are you feeding him?

hmm i cant really remember that size lol sounds ok someone will be feeding something that size they will know :p

If it is shedding weekly , then it is way to often ...
Does it have an injury , mites ?

Ok , 1 fuzzy mouse a week for a yearling childreni would not be giving it enough growth to be shedding 7 times in 8 weeks , there is very likely some thing else causing it ....

Shedding 3-4 times a month..IMO hatchies-yearlings usually shed once every 4-6weeks for me,anyhow..As long as its eating-shedding and pooping without any dramas, well i cant see a problem..However the shedding issue seems alot for me..

any suggestions on what could be causing it? I thought it could be an irritaion to the substrate, but have changed to newspaper and she has sheaded twice since then.

no idea certainly a weird one:/ no idea what difference this would make but, what temps is the tank at?
also humidity is that all good aswell...

has a heat pad set on 30 during the day and 26 at night, also has a heat light which keeps the the air temp at 28...not sure about humidity but i spray the enclosure on hot days, also she has the occasional bath.

so u bath it , or duz the snake go and sit in its water bowl ?

is only a small water bowl in her enclosure...every few days if weather is warm enought I put her in an outside larger enclosure with a larger bowl and she has occasionally gone and sits in the water bowl

Is it shedding in one full piece each time? Any retained shed at all (check the eyes)? Any small injuries to scales? Sure it's not mites? After it soaks in the water bowl, have a close look.

What you have described is unusual, and I'd be taking it to a vet.

she has said its in one piece, i really want to know why ay, has anyone else heard of this?
she may just grow out of it:/
