Plywood (marine grade)

Hi everyone.
I think I have convinced my dad to help me build a few enclosures. He is into boats and has a heap of marine ply lying around and loving that I found this thread on it ! I won't be keeping anything requiring a water section or humidity - is this 'epoxy' thing still the best, untoxic, easily applicable substance to use -I know a lot about reptiles requirements but dad knows a lot more about sealants and the handy work - but I'm doing the research to ensure what he uses is not toxic to my animal ! The least chemicals the better, yet enduring for cleaning/ poo/ food/ water bowls ect ! Thankyou heaps

From what I've been googling gelcoat doesn't completely harden, it remains sticky even once dry.

As long as you put hardener in it it will dry hard. Have you ever touched a sticky boat?
