Hi all,

Stressing out a bit here. About an hour ago my Gammons struck the glass of his enclosure pretty damn hard as i walked past (feeding day just around the corner). Anyway, his lower jaw went completely out of place and has been like that since (see pic). He's been opening his mouth wide and rubbing his jaw over everything constantly in an attempt to realign it, to no avail. I wasn't too concerned at first, but it's been like an hour and nothing has changed?

Insight?

i remember seeing a thread about 5-6 months ago give or take a bit about a stimmi i believe who had done the same thing , struck the enclosure and had pretty much the same thing happening with their mouth as pictured here , it ended up being stuck on a tooth from memory , ill see if i can dig it up quickly but im hopeless at finding old threads

stimmilove , i believe it may have been your thread i was referring to , found another very similar though but with a woma , appears it may happen a bit

thats was my stimmi!!!! :D
She did the same thing! Struck the tub she was in and got her lip caught on her tooth (i know they dont have lips, but you know what i'm on about). She lost her tooth from it too.
Give it a feed and it fixes itself right in front of you :)

What could have happened (it has happened to one of mine) is he could have got his lip stuck on a tooth. I had to get a toothpick and pull the skin off the tooth to fix it. But I would leave it a couple of hours before considering that.

this is my silly stimi. She was super hungry and smooshed up her face.

Hm, trust that im out of rats at the moment.

Will see how it looks in the morning, if it's not swollen i'll have to run down and get some.

Thanks, guys.

Feel much better knowing that this has happened to others before, with a happy outcome =]

not even a mouse laying around? even a fuzzy would do it :)

I'm fresh out! Poor Snuffles will just have to look like a goof for a bit unfortunately =p

Well, by this morning Snuffy was back to his usual happy, hissy self. No harm done, all ended well (and without the use of toothpicks ;) )
