Hey,

Sucks that my first post is asking for help was hoping to do an intro first but anyways I just wanted to ask if my new south west carpet python will be ok? The power is currently out hasn't been out for too long but I did just feed him earlier today he is 7 months old and in a wooden enclosure with two vents and a mesh top should I be worried I just don't want him to get sick hoping that this power outage doesn't last much longer.

thanks.

I dont know to much about snakes but im sure he should be fine as long as the power isnt out for hours
feel free to correct me if im wrong but thts should be pretty close to accurate?

He will be fine. Chuck a couple of blankets over the tank so that it holds heat in the tank better.
Cheers Cameron

^ sounds like a good idea just do that
or if you have a hot water bottle or wheat pad you could place that on top of the tank to help keep it warm

Been an hour I threw a blanket over it just hope it isn't out for long, if this turns into an overnight outage will he be ok?

He will be fine. Snakes do not always get optimal conditions in the wild after feed so they can cope with a few hours no heat fine. I wouldn't bother stressing until morning and I can't see your power outage making it until then.

might sound silly - put him in a pilow case at take him to bed with you .... maybe....

That would be one of the very last things I would consider doing. Very easy for the snake to be accidentally crushed during the night, if not tied properly it can get out and escape, could over heat being to close to your heat and not being able to move away. That is just some stuff that could go wrong.
No problem. They aren't as feeble as most people say they are. Good luck with it, I am sure it won't be much longer.
