RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

look what happen in asia happened can't turn back time;; BUT all the attention is on human misery; WHAT about our NATIVE animals mammals, reptiles and bird we have many species that are extinct and endangered these are what Australia should be more concerned about and tv station should time for the welfare and plight for our animals, less funding to programs to save our animals ( $35 + million for the asian disater ) but the government spend NO where near that much in year for the reserach and reintroduction breeding colonys of the endangered, normal its all donation from big companys or people like us.

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

You should tell that to the TV stations that are broadcasting it farmdog. As I am sure Kerry Packer does not get on this website.

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

I'm packin my bags readying to go but havn't got a passport to chase Kerry Packer or the fiances

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

I hate it when people complain about land clearing when they live in those stupid F#&@ED up Estates and the loss of our native fauna when they let their cats roam. If you really do care about our native animals(and plants for that matter) You could easily plant LOCAL plants instead of all this 'traditional' garden cr*p, and altough Hybrids and natives from other parts of Aus are good for birds ect they are still displacing your local native flora, and there are usually local plants that do the exact same job and often better.

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

Did anyone catch a report from Queensland I think that they are trying to bring a legislation about Desexing cats as madatory which is WAY TOO LATE!!

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

It's about time, where are you from by the way farmdog, QLD or Vic?

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

I just read this thread now and had to comment to you westy - if you choose to think that way thats your perogative, as horrendous as many people (myself included) may find it to be. But why come on here and broadcast it, knowing how deeply some of these people feel about this? And then say senseless things like
i don't realy care iff i urinated you off
. I don't see the reasoning behind it... it's hard for me not to argue with you based on your way of thinking, but i'm restraining myself. But there's no excuse for deliberately antagonising emotionally distraught people. And if you claim you weren't setting out to do that, then you're far more ignorant of human nature and perceptions than i would have liked to give any person credit for.

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

all i can say is if you all care about what i think about this subject. then you are all as bad as me. you all have nothing better to do then to jump at the person that is different from the group. and for that i pity you why don't you all get a life.

I think westy is just giving his opinion....does it really matter if you guys don't agree?

I guess I just felt he went about it in a bit of an aggressive way. A second of thought and he could have delivered his opinion a bit softer, if he really felt he had to. Anyway, tis stupid to argue about this sort of thing, that's why i didn't attack his opinion (too hard) and just the fact that he delivered it into this thread. Though perhaps i should have kept that to myself as well.. ah well

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Here's mine:
It has been a very somber week, everyday when I turn on the TV the death toll seems to have gone up another 10,000 and the amount of people that will die from disease will make it even higher.
People deal with tragedy in different ways. Some people want to do what they can to help while others don't really care if it doesnt directly affect them.

How inconvenient that the death of 100,000+ people is depriving the viewing audience from watching re-runs of "Friends".

westhamsc have you not seen the footage of the mothers crying because they have lost their whole families. The picture of the little sweedish kid holding up a sign saying that he has lost his 2 brothers and his mother and father. That is a really stupid thing to say and it was really un called for...

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

I cant believe im reading this. Westhamsc and Farmdog grow up. You sound like little school children who are annoyed because this has taken priority over playschool. We are seeing all this coverage because we need to. It won't stop either until they have all rebuilt and can go on with thier lives. This is just almost the worst natural disaster since the dinosaurs were wiped out and you are saying you are sick of watching it!! Have some respect for those involved. The fact that there is so much coverage serves a purpose. Which is that it is showing us how much of a tragedy this really is. If we become aware we are more likely to try and help.

Anyway what are you doing watching TV all day every day anyway. Why dont you go out and find yourself a job. Then Farmdog!! If the coverage is not going to help rebuild then maybe you can donate your wages.

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

I can see this thread turning ugly. Please don't turn such a well meaning thread into a bunch of personal attacks.
Yes, it is sad to see some peoples attitude towards this disaster but if they are truly sick of hearing about it as they say then they will not be reading this thread.
Please, lets agree to disagree and move on. Nothing good can come from any arguing about it.

RE: Re: RE: Prayers for tsunami victims

my apologies for my previous personal attacks, and discrediting remarks. greebo is right, and the rest of my energy will be going towards helping out in some way.. :|

I got my annual holidays and I rather give my wages to a Australian animal foundation
