Poor snakie  I like the way they described it as a 14 footer with a 14 foot strike range  I've heard about those jumping pythons!

looks like amature get snake to keep and have no idea. Shame.

"Its mouth was around my whole hand ... I figured I could get him off, but I couldn't," Velthouse said yesterday.

Haley held a flashlight, while North shot the snake in the head with a shotgun.

All sounds a bit dodgey to me. If the snake had hold of his hand and the police officer shot it in the head (with a shotgun), wouldn't the young man have been hit also?.

if it was a pet wouldn't you want to get the snake off, seems like the owner to easily said, ahh just shoot it. IMO

I thought it let go *after* they stabbed it again and again and again - you know just after they attempted to use a screw driver to pry its mouth open.

Prior to calling police, Velthouse's friend tried prying the snake's mouth off Velthouse's wrist with a screwdriver. Stabbing the snake with a machete finally made it release him.

Once it let go *then* they shot it...as you do.

the snake was angry couldnt get close to it, well DAH! YA JUST STABBED IT IN THE HEAD WITH A MACHETE!! ID BE UPSET TOO! MORON!

Another case of an idiot owner and a reporter who dosnt know what he/she is reporting.

I only feel sorry for the poor animal and the way it spent it last minutes alive.
