I just rememberred they old guy telling me that if a Python bites you it will get infected really bad, and this infection will return on the same date every year.

no, this happens,but the returning sore can be caused by something left in the bite that causes,the wart like infection.the story is really based around the bite of a wild monitor i think.i remember reading it in a reptile book from the 40's that was written for kids..

Yep, thats undoubtedly true and not only from python bites. :lol: Cause my grandmother told me she was bitten by a green tree snake when she was a young woman, and the bite area got inflamed and itchy every year thereafter for the next 40 or so years. :roll:

This must be a very common myth because I was informed recently that "certain people" can be "poisoned" from a python bite. I tried to explain things to her but she was adamant that "they" (an unknown group of people) have done studies and proven it. Although the amazing reappearing trick of the infection wasn't included in this version. :lol:

How did they do the studies? Let people get biten by a few different species of pythons and then let them die? What a TOOL.

Yeah, I read a similar book, but it wasn't just about reptiles - it went on with stories about fairies and elves, mermaids, goblins, dragons, trolls etc etc. :wink:

hey old fella,the wart virus that could be the cause of the myth ,is sometimes a seasonal event,,in warmer wetter weather they can become worse,it can seem to reccur at the same time each year,,hence ol farts 'colorise' the story to be told for generations to come,,
