Hey all,
thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Jay and I run Jay Exotic in Perth. Haven't been on forums for years due to facebook taking over, but I missed reading the threads.
Good to see a forum is still up and running and fairly active. Over the last 4 or 5 years I have bred and currently breed: Antaresia Stimsoni, Antaresia Perthensis, Morelia Spilota Imbricata, Aspidites Ramsayi and Aspidites melanocephalus. I do also keep Liasis olivaceus, Liasis Fuscus, Boiga Irregularis and a few vens.
I offer a reptile relocation service to my surrounding area and have relocated countless dugites, tigers, carpet pythons and bobtails!
So a few people might pull me up on calling them "stimsoni" but according to our state regulator (DBCA) in WA, they wont be recognising the merge with childreni and time soon.
Most of you probably know that the WA hobby is very isolated. We are not permitted to import any python from other states which makes it tough since things like marbled childrens pythons or albino carpets/olives just aren't available to us. We can import colubrids, monitors and elapids though. WA does make for good herping trips though. Especially in the Pilbara and Kimberleys!
Really looking forward to chatting with a few guys as I build up my own experience and maybe even share some of my own experiences with others.
Cheers
Jay
P.S Another relocator/keeper and myself also have a podcast that is very specific to the WA hobby and the reptiles we can keep and breed. If anyone is interested it is called "Reptile Chat WA" and can be found on most podcast platforms or by finding the podcast page on facebook
