Hi, I have a 6 month old Murray Darling python, had him for about 2 weeks now. Breeder I got him off said he was an excellent feeder, and he was giving him a fuzzy every 4-6 days.

I haven't been able to get him to feed since I've had him. I've tried just placing the fuzzy in his click clack and leaving it overnight.. tried holding it in front of him, and exposing the fuzzy's brain.

He just seems scared of the mouse and won't go near it.. He's spose to be due for a shed, but no indication (milky eyes, anything) Click clack is right temp.. I can't figure out what's wrong or how to get him to feed.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated, this is my first python so any advice will be wonderful.

Also.. how long can he go without feeding? When should I really start worrying?

Temps ?
How much are you handling ?
Whats it kept in ?

Don't panic , leave it alone , its cold and it may not eat every time you offer .

Yep, need more info...

Also, there are lots and lots of threads on this topic with good ideas in them - maybe try searching the herp help section, as well?

Hi Ingrid, not sure about MD's as I don't have one, but many pythons slow down this time of year, does your MD look thin perhaps post photos. Brumation is part of their natural behaviour though and most snakes are a bit slower to eat this time of year, and move slower, I live in North Queensland and still provide heat 24\7 for juveniles I want to keep eatting and they have slowed down even being kept with heat.

cheers
Scott
