while i am aware it is illegal to own/buy sub 10cm turtles (unless you breed them) in vic.
i am currently considering a companion for my long neck.
i am just worried, that if, nature takes its course....
what do i do with the babies if i can't look after them until they are 10cm?
can you give them away to licence holders?
or do you have to keep them no matter what?

Why not get a companion that's the same sex as the one you have now? Then you won't have that particular problem.

:p

Hix

2 reasons...

firstly i don't know "her" sex, and probably wouldn't know the new turtle/s sex either (i just got a new tank for "her" thats quite a deal bigger, so was considering more)

secondly, i would LIKE (by like, i mean like, i would not be ACTIVELY trying to breed them) some babies, but if there are heaps, i wouldn't have the space to keep them all till 10cm, and it's not something i'd like to risk given its the baby turtles that may potentially suffer
