did u look on ebay for the parts needed to fit to a drum ?

I have rat drinker nipples which attach to the wire and poke through into the cage for the rat or mouse to drink. They have a 4mm barb over which you push 4mm plastic pipe like you use for garden irrigation. each nipple is connected to the mainline with a push on plastic "t" . The mainline is the connected to the 20 liter header tank which should be 1-3 meters above the nipple to supply the right pressure. A lot of old plastic drums have threaded outlets for taps or you can use a rubber gromment through the wall of the tub with a bit of silicon.

the ones pictured are normally used for larger animals like rabbits.These ones I got off eBay

Go to an irrigation supply or plumber shop and get a reducer from 1/2inch BSP male ( the drum probably has a 1/2 inch female thread) . to a 4 or 5 mm barb to take low density poly pipe.
or
Get a rubber grommet 1/2 inch x 4 mm and a barb x barb 4mm end connector. Drill a 1/2 inch hole in the contaner and push in the grommet with a smear of silicon, After it is dry push in thr rnd connector, then a piece of pipr, then a 4mm tap, then pipe, then a T to the first drinker, then pipe, the T to the next drinker..... and so on.
