Just got my first delivery of ratties from Cheryl today The quality is the best i have seen ! Thanks Cheryl & Dave

We had a bit of fun at the airport picking them up though
First no one knew anything about them  then a lady said they had been sent to a different shed with a chiller and i should go there and pick them up as the reception knew all about them .
I got there and they of course new nothing and they rang around and said they wernt there at all and no deliverys in my name had come in that day :?
I went back to Virgin and they rang Adelaide and said my ratties were booked but had not made it on the flight so I left thinking there must have been a problem somwhere :? My wife also told the security Guard that we were picking up frozen rats he asked why she said they were a delicacy :lol
I got 3 ks down the road my mob rang and they said they found them ! :) so back we went and when we got there she told me they had packed them ready to go with stuff going to darwin .... lucky we went back before it was to late !
Just as we were leaving the lady there looked at me with a puzzled questioning look on her face and said "these are for snake food arnt they "
 I said yeah and got in the car and pissed myself laughing The security guy must have told her we were gonna eat them

Cheers Cheryl We never once doubted you !!!! :D :D

They are best eaten barbecued over hot coals. Leave the fur on as when cooked, the fur will be burnt.
Please consume without flavouring as tomato sauce will ruin the taste.

I prefer them cut up into pieces and seasoned and cooked in the oven.......very nice, especially if you stuff the whole ones like a chook and cook them on a stick like a kebab thing.

Hey that's nothing guys! One of our Adelaide customers met us at the Virgin Freight Terminal. He's a Chef, and was in a real rush as it was lunchtime. He was all dressed up in his Chef's outfit, and he told the guys there he had to get the rats back to the restaurant for a special dish!! LOL!!! :D :D Geez Mick! I'm glad the rats didn't get sent on to Darwin!!

Nah, skin and gut them first. But definitely BBQ. Boiling them tends to ruin the flavour and makes them very moist inside. Even sauce can't remedy that.

:p

RE: Re: RE: Rats from RR

 Well, I shouldn't be laughing! Stuffed up two orders. Don't worry, will be fixed no probs, but it peeves me! Don't usually do that(stuff up I mean), just had such a hectic couple of weeks(alsoback at work now after fractured kneecap), Dave is full time Casual butcher in a new job since November. He does at least 95hrs/fortnight, if not more(casual rates). We definately need an apprentice I reckon. And after yesterday's run(and back) to Adelaide, we are very, very stuffed.

You're a bunch of Bl**dy whimps! BBQ, Boil and even raw???? The only way to prepare good rat meat is a good Vindaloo!!

I also got some rodents from the ranch, I am very happy with what I received, well packaged and of high quality. They are very easy people to deal with, I will definately buy from them again. Excellent value for money also, I pay twice as much locally for rats 2/3rds the size!!

Thanks Cheryl and Dave. :)

Thats very good! I would have loved to see the expression on his face

Hopefully one day I might have a number of snakes to justify getting some frozen ratties of Rodent Ranchers. Cheryl and Dave sound like they run an efficient and handy business! Good Stuff! :D
