hi guys about to purchase one of these guys and really want some information like housing amd what sizes they get up to at maturity and does anyone know of any care sheets for these at all?

i have one in a timber enclosure with glass front, 900x500x500 and he eats pinky rats, meal worms, crickets and woodies. I have a 150 watt infrared bulb over his basking spot and thats sits over 2 slate tiles. Have a small water dish at the cool end, good ventilation and your ready to rock, they are very funny to watch. I use red desert sand as his substrate. they Like the hot end heated to about 40 degrees. He is fully grown and is about 40cm head to tail. I have a hollow log in his enclosure and at night he hides in it and this makes it easy to clean him out because he will not come out at all once its dark. Hope this helps

The surface area of the basking spot should be significantly hotter than 40C. Between 60C and 70C is optimal from what I have been told.

ive never been told that hot, but 40 -45 degrees works for my ackie and ive had him for a while so what ever works.

Just keep in mind they can be easily spooked and can run away in a second. If you handle them regularly the right way they can grow up to be tame and easily handled. As for all other questions get your hands on 'Keeping and Breeding Australian Lizards' edited by Mike Swan.
