Could I mix Red Desert Sand 70/40 with Kritter's Crumble (70 = Crumble, 40 = Sand), without any risk of impaction, for my Centralian Blue-tongue?

Im not sure but putting sand in with blueys just doesnt seem like a good idea, im not sure how it would go down if they did happen to eat some.

Well, central bluies pretty much live on the stuff and seem to do fine in wild.

Feed the bluie outside of the enclosure? or use a food bowl?

I reckon people over think substrates. Reptiles are pretty versatile and in the wild they probably ingest all sorts of stones and crap when they are ingesting prey. I have also read that small stones and sand when ingested probably aids in digestion in ecototherms :)

Sand is heaps better substrate than newspaper, and gives the animal some dignity. Just check that the kitty litter has no chemicals that pose a risk.
