my spotted is fed in his enclosure and never even coils at me he is about 3 yrs now and i get hm out on a hook for the sole reason i have a visual imparement and dont wanna touch him on the head and scare him by accident with clumsy fingers. he is a great snake

I feed all my snakes in their enclosures, and I don't have a problem. All my snakes are docile as a care bear in daylight hours. The only rule I follow is: Feeding always happens after dark and therefore, never sticking my hand in after dark, without expecting the concequences.

Good temps for a Spotted Python would be around 22C cool end, up to around 30-33C warm end, with a hide at each end. It's not really necessary to wait 2 weeks before offering food again, although it wouldn't cause him any problems if you left it for a month or two! If he's out and about in the evening, and looks hungry, I'd offer him a smallish meal, and if he eats it and retains it, do the same again in 4-5 days, then go back to a weekly normal size feed.

Jamie.
