Researcher warns of killer Aussie ants

I wonder if native animals have allergies and end up dead from ants??

It would be a a kind of sad allergy to have if you were a thorny devil or an echidna ;-)

This was found out in the bush well away from human interference. The joey was still alive when found. I guess these meat ants are really killers.

I am very allergic to bees, but I know Hopper Ants give me much the same reaction. If you have hundreds of them (any ants) biting you, I'm sure it wouldn't be pretty

I've always said that "the great outdoors" is a horrid and dangerous place. Ants and other creepy-crawly nasties, wind which messes up one's hair, dust which clogs one's pores. Bed is the only safe place to be!
