Haven't seen this bid yet.....will have to check it out.

Without watching the vid I would say the lever is the handbrake.

yea i think your talking about the handbrake lever its been modified so he can lock up the rear wheels in a flash then release them again just as quick

although from what i can tell they've only made it sit at a different angle and made it longer but it makes locking it on easier than the standard style lever

Yup it's the handbrake.

It's a shame he had to change from subaru to ford for WRC,subaru should step there game up from the PWRC.

This is a sweet video of the 170+ft jump he hits in the subaru.

ent from subaru to ford.

I thought it may have been a handbrake.

Would it work just on the back wheels or is there a way he locks the front wheels as well? Amazing how he can just pivot around a point with the front wheels hardly moving.

just the back wheels like a normal handbrake , you could lock up the front wheels with the normal brakes if they turned off the abs but i cant see much point in locking up the front not sure what would happen if you did it with speed but when your stopped it would just do a burnout

in gymkhana 5 hows the corner at 5:40 in to the vid this guys crazy wonder if he crashed that corner the first time he tried its pretty hairy

All I know about Ken Block is he loves his little modified fords and turning them into short shift AWD's. He is truly amazing though, what a bloke!

ken block is awesome at gymkhana stuff, not so much rally. Even the legend on 2 wheels travis pastrana has beaten him in rally

yyyyyyyyyeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah true dat! I personally think his income! Cause if your that rich many many lessons will still make ya a good driver....but just being able to drive that good doesn't mean you will make it :p
Either way his a lucky bastard!

... I'm not sure of I'm more jealous of skill or his income...

Another apprentice to Sebastien Loeb (who's worth $45 million)

Great vid... But it's not a single take vid... The same stunt was probably filmed several times - whether it to be to get a perfect angle for filming, or because it didn't quite work. But never the less, brilliant....

Anyone want to lend me their car?

you know i have a sneaking suspicion your right there slim6y , i think all the tyre marks kinda give it away :) you couldn't expect someone to get a coarse like that perfectly down pat first time round

bahaha... Lend me your car, make me a course, I'll show you what happens to first time ;)

Not just the tire marks - but the different angles... The effect is brilliant, the filming is amazing, love the highspeed shots too.

But think of it this way - in the WRC - you don't get to re-do the course 15 times to get it right - first time and the fastest time only counts :)

his first one is still the best. Can't beat over 500hp atw in an AWD! Insane!

The ford fiesta is capable of 850hp but is restricted to 650hp (which is around 470kw) so it's actually half controllable and does 0-100 in just over 2seconds, not bad for a ford.

Yeah it's a hydraulic handbrake. And when he just locks the front wheels up he would be adjusting the bias of the brakes so most of the braking is done by the front wheels..my guess is a car like that would be able to do it on the fly... Such a lucky man Mr Block
