But think of it this way - in the WRC - you don't get to re-do the course 15 times to get it right - first time and the fastest time only counts :)
your right there you dont get a second chance in rally , probably why most of them don't drive it quiet as hard as they could (risks outweigh the benefit ) and they still manage to crash and slide out on corners

and it just might be a hydraulic handbrake , nothing to special about that though imo (unless they've been upgraded of coarse) just that you cant snap the cord , is it standard on ford fiestas ?

Pretty sure most manufacturers still use cable handbrakes. The type used in that car is called a fly off handbrake. It isn't able to be used in the sense of a normal hand brake.they are sprung so you can pull them to you to engage and release to let it off. they are illegal tho. Lol

After watching it,and going off his previous vids and general rally cars, it will be a hydraulic hand brake just connected to the rear wheels. Just being able to lock the rear wheel would give you the most car control and I think that is how they run the subi wrc cars and it helps with the dccd controls too.

I also think that no matter how many lessons you have had without a lot of natural ability you could not do what he is doing here.....I think the reason pastrana out does him in rallying is simply that he has greater natural ability. There has been a few F1 drivers step into a rally car and fail but there has been several rally drivers step into an F1 and do well. Rally drivers would have to the best car control of all drivers and also the biggest balls out of anyone alive I think! ;)

I could have 1000s of lessons and still not do what he does.....

manufacturers use park brakes that are hand operated not handbrakes. In no way are the parkbrakes used in normal manufactured cars engineered to use as a handbrake

To those debating wether it was one take or not... It wasn't and they never claim it is. In all his videos they say its filmed over the course of a few days. They do it a few times for each part of it to get different angles. He COULD do it all in one go, but it wouldn't look as good to us and we wouldn't see all the cool angles.

I've seen him drive in person before and he's amazing to see. That car sounds amazing in real life too.
