yes it is!! but not in QLD, unless you get an demonstrators licence, you can keep them in VIC, SA and NT, but only in the others if you have a demonstrators licence.

Not a pet that you can play with much though, Just buy some property with a couple of dams or a creek on it and hope some turn up. Good bait would be sheep or thirsty animals I think.
