Scale Rot

A couple of months ago my Big old coastal female had a case of scale rot. I come back from working away for 2 weeks and found her with this, She had just sat on the tile i have on heat cord untill she burn't herself.

I kept her in a big click clack tub with good heat and no moisture for a few weeks, giving her a feed to bring on a shed. This was 3 sheds ago. You cant even see that she had it now. Just something to keep an eye on.

Hey Gus, just 1 question, did you have a thermostat hooked up to the heat cord ?? if so how was the snake able to burn itself?? I am glad it has worked out ok but wow could have been heaps worse. ................................Ron

Can you please give some more details about set up etc? I would like to be confident this would never happen to me.

Don't feel too bad. All keepers make mistakes , it's all part of learning and gaining experience.
