he could have been sliding around and got stuck on something that has ripped up his scale abit and he hiding or recovering. with the feeding proplem i had the same problem with my children python that diddnt eat for 6 weeks's leave the feed in there over night or what work for me is i push the rodent a little bit in the hide and if he is in the S shape wave the mice/rat in front of it. and dont try and feed him every day just try and feed him evey 5-7 like normal. :)

The pictures are a bit blurry but I would get him to a vet if you are concerned. It does look like an early onset of scale rot, but it could also be a reaction to the chemical residue of the electrical tape or whatever you used to clean it up. Whatever the cause, best to have a vet check him out.

Pictures are blurry, but behaviour is consistent with approaching shed cycle. Doesn't look anything like "early onset of scale rot" to me - that is usually accompanied by inflammation and redness, and is generally associated with constant damp. Tape is a VERY big no-no in snake enclosures and can quite easily kill them if they become very entangled. I wouldn't bother with a vet at this stage, behavioural changes and loss of appetite are normal at this time of year, especially for Antaresias, and even more especially for males.

I'd just sit it out for a while and see if it's coming up for a shed - this is also a common response to a skin disturbance as well - if the skin is injured, snakes will often shed as frequently as every three weeks until the damage is healed. They need to be slick and smooth to move effectively, scabs and wounds have to heal as quickly as possible.

I learnt something new and take back my previous comment, thanks Jamie.

He shed this morning.guys and he is back 2 normal :) now 2 see if he will feed

That's great news Timmit; usually the next shedding cycle will fix a lot of problems - including not feeding. Let us know if he feeds okay?

regards,
Lockie

Thanks for the comment SniperCap - re-reading it it sounds a bit rude & blunt - something I've got a bit of a reputation for here lol! I didn't mean it to sound that way, so sorry if I was a bit gruff :)!

Good news about the shed too - always the first thing to suspect if behaviour changes...
