Interesting stuff herptrader,i have always thought that there's no reason this could be done with snakes as has been done with most animals these days and i'm taking a stab that that's how animals such as woma carpet hybrids are made as i would imagine a carpet would be a nice meal for a woma.

Also i've heard of people who've tried crossing womas and bhp's and in all cases cannabalism occured which is another reason to wonder how aspidites morelia hybrids can be possible...just a thought no conspiracy theories just very curious

Surely this has been done in uni trials etc with some information available somewhere as i find this very interesting!

Artificial insemination in snakes has never worked yet to the best of my knowledge.

Awesome, bring em on Daavid, many more to come like that mate, I hope, including a follow up to that one! Absolutly amazing! cool Stuff! thanks :D

its the tube of KY that confuses me. (for a start its water soluble ? or so I have heard)

Yeah but they did it almost entirely outta the water, prolly put heaps in there!

You got me wondering noe Andy too ! you ever actually seen a woma/carpet hybrid? pics? Lol, I can see many a dissappointed lad returned to his enclosure to discover his x breeding dreams in tatters and one snake short of the deal. LMAO

RE: Re: RE: Sharkificial insemination

i have seen pix of carpet x womas, scrub x carpets, retic x carpets

RE: Re: RE: Sharkificial insemination

Are they ugly as sin or what? can you locate a pic for us please, just out of intrest? :D

Here's a pic of a woma bredli cross so much the same as a carpet cross woma...i just can't see this happening any other way than through artificial insemination.Do any of the academics have an answer out there?

Wow, it looks strange, I wouldnt say ugly exactly, but odd. Amazing whats possible with nature, all the same.
Thanks for pic Andy. very curious, i wonder if they stroked her with an artificial spur?

Re: RE: Sharkificial insemination

;-)

Actually their are lots of interesting factoids to do with sharks breeding. Those that bear live young tend to get cnabalistic in the womb so you start of with a whole bunch of shark feotuses and only one two survive being eaten to be born.

Have you ever seen a Port Jackson Shark egg? It looks like a little space ship with spirals. Not like any other egg I have ever seen.

Yeah from what i'd read up on it i thought it was IJ cross also but a friend who was baffled by it sorced every detail and apparently is a bredli not IJ,i'll try find out from him where it gives the info and post it..

Yeah have seen quite a few in Vic and theyre a funny spiral shape and black sort of like the peel off an orange when done in one piece if that makes sense.Port Jacksons are gorgeous sharks and a pleasure to dive with, they have the most gorgeous eyes and are harmless....

I just thought it was IJ cause that's what the breeder (NERD) posted it as. Anyway, it would be interesting to see any info about the original pairing.

Yeah wether IJ or bredli still a carpet cross aspidites at the end of the day and i'd love to know how this was achieved?

I am normally a conservationist at heart but I must say if man eating sharks became extinct I wouldn't be weeping. Especially as I don't have an eye ball growing out my **** and can't swim as fast as an under water torpedo.

Not so much fun when you are diving with a group of newbies and one idiot decides to stir up a Port Jackson and the Port Jackson takes a munch on the instructors arm as she tries to stop this happening. Amazing power in those jaws, causes quite a nasty crush injury. :(
