Wanting advice please before i rush off to the vet possibly over nothing...
One of the bubs shed last week and i've noticed a very dry looking patch of skin on the large scale just in front of the eye, its appears as though this particular scale didn't come off. Now i was stupid enough not to bother checking his last slough as he pooped in it and i didn't fancy checking through all of that to make sure it was complete. Now i've successfully rubbed off scales that had been left on in the past on my other snakes using 'Skin Shed' as a moisturiser, but that had always been on the body where they didn't mind getting rubbed nor was there any risk of doing damage.
Now my question is, is it okay to use this stuff near the eyes/mouth/nose, and how do i go about rubbing it off in such a sensitive area? Or is this simply something thats too important to mess up and out of my league, should i just take the fellow along to a vet and have them remove the skin? He's in a warm bath with the moisturiser in it at the moment, i'm hoping the increased humidity will help.
Oh and day/night temps are at 33/25ish, humidity at 50-60%.
The bottle has no warnings or anything of the sort on it.
Thanks in advance,
Shoo
