One of my nine week old beardies is going through his first shed since I've had him. I noticed this evening that he was kind of shaking his hind legs around and using them to scratch his head (like a dog!) and swishing his tail a fair bit.

Is this something beardies do during shedding to help remove the skin or should I be worried?

I have a few beardies myself, and mine have never done that. Although it could be that hes just had a bad shed, so if there is any excess skin still stuck, put him in some luke-warm water and soak him for a bit, then GENTLY try and remove whats left......It could aslo be mights, and hes scratching out of irritation.....
you should be able to see these as a white little specks, and the lizard usually spends a fair bit of the time soaking in the water, I wont go into to detail about how to treat them if theres no point....

good luck....matt
