Hi guys,

Have just purchased a 10mth old jungle and when he has shed has only shed almost all of his body apart from a 3 inch section on the top of his body and cant get the rest off. I currently own 3 other pythons and they have never had this problem. I have bathed him the last 2 days to try to remove the excess skin but not much luck. I have just contacted a vet clinic who advised to keep bathing him and to rum sorbolene cream or vitimin E cream in after the baths. Have you every heard of this before. Are there any others ways i can remove this.

Regards,
Luke

unless its on the tip of the tail , or the head i dont bother trying to get every bit of old skin off . the next time it sheds it should be fine .

I spray mine with Repti-mist from the pet/reptile store when they are having problems shedding.... they usually shed shortly after.

You can try putting it in a wet calico bag or toweling for an hour or two following the bath – which, by the way, should be lukewarm and the affected area should be immersed for around 30 mins. Otherwise, just leave it as suggested.
