The snake is an adult so it's unlikely that it's a breeder with a whole clutch of them that can be swapped. May e 5potted can correct me though...

Ok so I know I hear a lot about all this probing not being an exact science. What about popping? I mean if it does not pop you might not be totally sure but every male you do get you can guarantee is male.

At three years old and this time of year there's a chance of expressing sperm with a faecal swab. That would be a 100% way of telling if you are dealing with a male. Failing that, there's still a chance that it's a deep probing female. Unfortunately, mistakes happen...

I didn't see the bottom part in brackets, lol.

Disregard my post.

how often does this happen? i see this a bit but wasnt that aware it happens with regularity,
why dont you try trading her with someone else then male for female? if it happens with any regularity
then im sure somone has a female that was sold as male? would that be an option?

Funny how 99% of balls ups are males! and that it is breeders who are posting "It happens"....hahaha, do luv a conspiracy theory..:)

I have had the same problem and have spoken to the seller/s and they have righted the situation.Which is really fantastic of them. Personally, I would not trust a vet to probe a snake. We got sold a girl, vet probed it as a male, we told the seller , he said the same vet probed the same snake as a female. So go figure.

No the seller doesn't have any more, it's a local specific python and not too many available at the moment unfortunately at 3 yrs or older, the seller actually had a pair but the vet probed them both as female (he had someone lined up to buy them as a pair too) which is why I believe it was a genuine mistake as he had them probed for the buyer to confirm the pair and found out he had two so called females... lets hope the person who bought the second female actually got a female too!
